The food was very good and we were having a great time enjoying our meal until the waiter turned the football on halfway through our meal at a very loud volume right behind our table.
£1.15 for a dash of cordial is ridiculous.

Came off the wall and stumbled in out the heat. Greeted and found a seat by Mine Host. Browsed the lunch menu both chose Crab cakes! Great choice. Came quickly. Freshly cooked with lovely salad . Loads of little nooks and crannys. Very cute.

Called in,having read reviews. Really glad I did. Met by mine host, in relaxed gear, it was hot. When he showed me the menu I was interested to see that smaller meals were on offer with a drink. Woohoo. Great value, great beer. The food came very quickly and was hot. My oh my so well presented and really tasty. Excellent. Have to admit the people on the next table had full meals which were consumed with gusto and very complimentary phrases were heard from their direction. I was full, don't know how they tucked it all away. I know where I will be heading next time I visit my home town and need brilliant food in a welcoming setting at a great price. Don't hesitate. Tucked In.

Never again! Five of us ate there last night (Sunday, 19th April) We all opted for the Sunday Roast. (ranged between £16 and £19 per person) Two people had the trio of meats, two had the chicken and I had the beef. All of meals were supposed to come with sea salt and rosemary roast potatoes, honey roast parsnip, fresh vegetables, creamed spinach etc. when the food came it was all frozen veg, no sign of any parsnip, piles of frozen peas and other than the chicken the meat was poor. One member of our party (whose birthday it was) had some pork - it was literally a lump of fat - absolutely disgusting.
Upon enquiring about the parsnip the young lady returned to apologise - they had run out - fair enough but they could have at least told us. When we mentioned the quality of the meat an apology was given and the possibility of discount was implied. However one of our group went quietly to pay and no discount was given.
I would not recommend this place to anyone - well certainly not the Sunday roast.
To be fair the serving staff seemed very nice if not a little embarrassed!
